As our range has grown, and we’ve sought to expand our primal offerings, we get many of you asking us which Planet Paleo product you should pick, or what the differences are, so read on to discover more and find the best product for your health goals…
Pure/Marine Collagen: These are our Planet Paleo hero products, your classic all rounder. They both provide 7.5g of Collagen per serving, which is 91% protein, there are no fillers, flavourings or additives at all. They are virtually tasteless so blend seamlessly into whatever you want to put them in: smoothies, coffee, porridge you name it. As collagen is the most abundant protein in our body, these are great if you are looking for a product for overall well-being, and to offer support for beauty, gut health, joint health and more. The only difference being the Marine is sourced from wild caught fish, and the Pure is sourced from grass-fed cattle, so it’s generally down to personal preferences, diet and lifestyle choices which you go for. If you are looking for that highest quantity of collagen per serving then these are your guys.
Now if you are looking for collagen for a specific reason you might want to opt for one of our collagen blends. These are also bovine collagen, though they have less collagen per serving as we’ve combined it with loads of other supportive herbs, vitamins and minerals:
Primal Goddess: Designed to be your beauty bestie and help you glow from within. This has hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, antioxidant rich berries, biotin and more alongside the all important collagen.
Active: This is designed as an anti-inflammatory product to support joint health, sports recovery and prevent wear-and-tear and degradation of connective tissues. We get amazing feedback with this product ranging from those with sports injuries to more serious health conditions. This blend has glucosamine, msm, turmeric, boswellia and more to keep you active and mobile for longer.
Digestive: One of the key areas of health that people take collagen/bone broth for is digestive health. Most gut healing protocols start with a foundation of bone broth or collagen, as they contain amino acids that are very anti-inflammatory and beneficial for the gut lining. This nourishing blend contains L-glutamine, quercetin, peppermint and more to help with gut health.
Osteo: One of the areas of health that many people don’t realise collagen is beneficial for is bone health. Collagen makes up a huge chunk of the bone matrix so it’s vital for our bones to withstand force and tension, especially as we age. This blend contains magnesium, vitamin K2 (MK7), manganese, kelp and more, and many of these nutrients are also beneficial for thyroid support also.
Collagen Hotties: Our collagen hotties are the ultimate lifestyle product and pantry essential. Blending 5g of therapeutic bovine collagen alongside other organic superfoods and herbs, all you need to do is add hot water/milk of choice and you’ve got a delicious latte all ready to go. There is no sugar, additives or flavourings in the blends, and we have blends to support you throughout the day and night. Rather than grabbing 4-5 different tubs of ingredients, why not just have everything ready in one handy serving. Choose from Matcha latte or Keto Coffee for that morning kick, or Cacao Magic and Turmeric Latte to unwind in style.
Gelatine is a primal product a lot of people are less familiar with but it’s another great way to get those collagen building amino acids in. In terms of health benefits, hydrolyzed collagen and gelatin offer similar benefits for gut support, beauty, joint and bone health. They have very similar amino acids profiles, protein content and nutritional benefits. Because it’s not been hydrolysed like collagen, it doesn’t dissolve in liquid, so it’s a super fun one to create delicious healthy recipes with like jelly, jams, mousses and more and get all the benefits of its anti-inflammatory protein.
Bone Broths: The original collagen source, and the complete whole food. Our bone broths come from the highest quality Scandinavian cattle, reared to the KRAV certification which is the gold standard for animal husbandry globally. Bone Broths naturally contain collagen, but alongside an array of nutrients in an easily digestible whole food form, from calcium and magnesium to hyaluronic acid and glucosamine. Bone broth is revered for it’s gut and immune benefits and it makes a delicious nourishing tea or addition to your recipes. Try our bone broth sports proteins in shakes/pancakes too, they are super creamy and great to replenish post-workout.
We hope that helps you make a decision on which product is right for you. Don’t forget you can combine products for extra support and you can also drop us an email/message on socials @planetpaleo if you need any more advice on which product to go for.
