Marine Collagen Moon Milk

Marine Collagen Moon Milk

Today we have another amazing recipe from our friend Phoebe from Natural Nourishment using our Marine Collagen to make a delicious pre-bedtime drink: Collagen Moon Milk. We often get asked when is the best time to take collagen, and it really depends on your needs and health goals. If you are looking to support recovery and repair then the evening can be a great time to take it, our bodies do so much repair overnight during sleep. Collagen's high content of Glycine is also effective for supporting our sleep. Glycine has a calming effect on the brain, it has been shown to support sleep quality and deeper more restful sleep, and improve cognitive functioning during daytime. It also increases serotonin levels, which has a big impact on mood. Serotonin is required to make the sleep hormone melatonin, which can restore healthy sleep patterns, and encourage deeper sleep. So it makes the perfect addition to this moon milk, in combination with tryptophan-rich oats, and mineral-rich cashews as well as adaptogenic Reishi and Holy Basil to promote a deeper sense of calm. You can always play around with your superfood and adaptogenic add-ins, as well as using more cashews if you want to avoid the oats. Collagen Moon Milk Ingredients 2 Tablespoons Jumbo Oats 1 Tablespoon Cashews 1 Teaspoon Carob Powder 1/2 Teaspoon Ceylon Cinnamon 1/4 Teaspoon Reishi and Holy Basil 1 Scoop Planet Paleo Marine Collagen Powder Method 1. Add cashews to a bowl, pour over boiling water and leave to soak for 10 minutes. 2. Drain and rinse the cashews and add to a blender with the oats, 1 cup boiling water and leave for 5 minutes. 3. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth, then pour into a pan and gently heat. 4. Sprinkle cinnamon to serve, sit back, sip and enjoy your Collagen moon milk. The perfect comforting drink now that the evenings are starting to get a little cooler and a little darker. Sleep well...
